cooperation/dance/opera
Premiere: 9/3/2017/ Slovak national theater, Bratislava, Slovakia
Repeat: 12/3/2017
Collegium 1704 performs Antonio Vivaldi's opera Arsilda in a new world premiere. A compostition has waited 300 years for a next performance after its premiere. Almost forgotten opera will be introduced by the orchestra within the European tour which starts on the 9th of March 2017 in the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava (the Slovak Republic).
This scenic version of Arsilda is the first performance of the opera since its premiere in 1716. The seventh opera of young Antonio Vivaldi is a composition full of musical experiments, rich orchestration and a virtuosity so typical for its author.
